Maharashtra planned to have 50 digital hamlets by end 2016: CM Fadnavis

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the state plans to have 50 digital hamlets by the end of next year. Addressing Microsoft's 'Future Unleashed’ summit in Mumbai, Mr. Fadnavis said the first digital village will come at Arisal with the help of Microsoft. Mr. Fadnavis informed that an ICT-based smart project will be used in Arisal, also called the malnutrition capital.
The Chief Minister said ICT will be integrated into healthcare, education, energy and other areas to develop the village. To a question from Microsoft India Chairman Bhaskar Pramanik about ease of doing business, Mr. Fadnavis said he wants to make the state the most preferred location for investments. He said that the permissions required have been brought down from 76 to 37 and his government is trying to bring them further down to 25 in three months.
